Axiom Utilities is a specialist management consultancy with unique experience of innovative product development and service provision in utilities for the public sector. Axiom has over 30 years’ experience of delivering services and solutions to complex energy and water portfolios.
One of Axiom’s key reasons for existing, is to clear away the smoke and break down the mirrors that are used within the utility sector against end users, for the sole benefit of consultants, intermediaries and suppliers. Complexity and obfuscation, jargon and hard selling are being used against even the largest organisations.
We use our many years of high-end utility consultancy experience to bring back accountability and clarity. Furthermore, it is our desire to enable all public sector organisations, large or small, to benefit from the best advice and the most competitive products.

Ben Coburn, Director
Ben has worked in the energy industry for over 15 years. He has overall responsibility for the sales, energy procurement and financial side of the company. In his spare time he hits things - mainly punch bags or mitts - but occasionally real people (almost always with their consent) while they try, and often succeed, to hit him back.
Dominic Kolb, Director
Dominic has set up energy bureau services for some of the largest companies in the UK, and is ultimately responsible for the entire bureau, audit, data management and reporting function for Axiom. His 3 favourite things in the world (after his family) are lego, spreadsheets and working out (at best, only 2 of these are true!).
Max Cowburn, Head of Sales
Max heads up our entire sales function and liaises with both of our marketing consultants. Outside of work, Max likes to barbeque stuff. In the summer he does it quite literally outside of work. He has set up a smoker on the salesroom balcony, and treats everyone to his hot, smoky delights every Friday afternoon!

Dawn Coburn, Bureau & Audits Manager
At weekends, Dawn spends her time looking after her kids. Oh, and she throws herself out of aeroplanes too...quite a lot...for fun! When her feet are on the ground, and under her desk at work, Dawn heads up one of our Bureau & Audit teams. She has responsibility for all our private sector Timeline™ Audits.
Mike Waddington, Bureau & Audits Manager
Mike likes to dive. All the time. At work, he heads up one of our Audit teams and oversees the public sector deep-dive Timeline™ Audits. On weekends, he straps a scuba tank to his back and rolls backwards into the ocean. He has dived off the coast of 4 continents, and wants to dive beneath the polar ice-cap (rather him than me!)
Jonathan Akers, Development Director
Jonathan is responsible for ensuring Axiom's services meet and exceed the needs and wants of our customers and potential customers. He’s the guy that makes it happen, as if by magic - and coincidentally his nickname on the ballroom dancing circuit is “The Magician.” We’ve seen his foxtrot… and we’re not sure why!

Andy Stone, Head of Risk Management
Andy's background is within Corporate Finance. For Axiom, he heads up our Risk Managed Procurement Team and has responsibility for writing and implementing Axiom's risk management strategies across both our fixed and flexible energy procurement service. Andy is a family man, golfer and tech geek (in that order).
Kath Graham, Data Manager
Kath is going places… all the time. Copenhagen, Sicily and Wigan, all within the last few weeks! When not trotting the globe, Kath looks after the administrative function for Axiom, and manages our access to customer billing data. All hail to the Queen of Utility Billing - without her the whole place grinds to a halt… She is the wind beneath our wings.
Paul Williams, Utility Procurement Manager
Paul has 2 degrees in Mathematics, from 2 different Universities - and for the life of us, we can't work out why. Any way, Paul uses his mastery of numbers to aid him in his goal to procure energy and water for Axiom's customers at the best price possible.
We give you a contributory pension and private health insurance. We even give you paid holidays! Plus upto 6 extra PAID occasional days - for those times that you have to wait in for the boiler repair man.
